The other day, I walked into Icing and was greeted by a wall covered in Clueless merchandise. As I stared at Alicia Silverstone's concerned face screaming "As If!" into a bright pink speech bubble on an iPhone 6 case, it occurred to me: high socks are in, tattoo chokers are everywhere, and people are tying flannel around their waists. This is not a drill. The 90's are back.
I've been embracing this 90's revival because, let's be real, the 90's rocked. Britney Spears was in her prime, Amanda Bynes was still sane, and I had never heard of the term "macroeconomics." Life could not have been better.
Unfortunately for me, I spent most of the 90's wearing frilly dresses from Gymboree with my hair tied up in pigtails. Now, I can embrace the awesome trends I admired when I was younger...
One of my favorite throwback trends is denim (remember Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears' infamous denim ensemble?). I found this amazing denim skirt at Brandy Melville last week and fell in love immediately. I'm really into light wash denim, but this skirt is also sold in a darker wash. I paired it with the Ginelli Tank, also from Brandy. To add to the 90's vibe, I accessorized with a pearl choker and an eye choker. I purchased both of these necklaces on Etsy.
I'm also wearing another one of my Furla candy crossbody bags. You can read more about my Furladdiction here. My flip flops are from Tory Burch, and while this pattern is no longer sold, Tory has plenty of gorgeous new patterns for the fall! My sunglasses, also from Tory Burch, were a gift from Chloe!
On my left wrist are my Fitbit Flex and my Michele watch, and on my right wrist is a vintage David Yurman bracelet from my grandmother!
I'm totally excited to fully immerse myself in this 90's revival, so expect to see a lot of Cher Horowitz-inspired outfits this fall.
