A Midsummer Night with My Social Canvas

July 18, 2015

I've been working with My Social Canvas for about 10 months now, and in that time, MSC has been growing rapidly!  MSC founder Lisa Mayer hosted an event this past Thursday for all of the Campus Reps based in the New York Metropolitan area so that we could meet, connect, and discuss upcoming projects! I already know a few of the Reps but it was so much fun meeting the other girls who have been involved with this amazing brand!

Brenna, Sam, Juliette, and I at the MSC event.  We all met at Nordstrom in the B.P. Fashion Board Program.

The event took place in the My Social Canvas studio, which is located in Greenwich Village.  It is a beautiful space with an amazing view of the city!

At the event, we got a sneak preview of MSC's newest collection, Design for Her Education, which is coming this fall.  This collection includes five designs that promote education.  This collection is the product of a contest hosted by MSC back in March.  The judges of this contest included Dayle Haddon, model and founder of WomenOne; Desiree Gruber, producer of Project Runway; Christy Turlington, model and founder of Every Mother Counts; Anne Fulenwider, editor-in-chief of Marie Claire Magazine; Erin Flaherty, beauty and health director for Marie Claire Magazine; Kelly Rutherford, an actress most famous for playing Serena Van Der Woodsen's mother on Gossip Girl; Catherine Malandrino, a fashion designer.  You can read more about the Design For Her Education collection here

A major part of My Social Canvas' mission is to help students design a life they love by following their passion.  At the event, we painted encouraging pictures and wrote down our aspirations for the upcoming year.

We also modeled our new Design For Her Education canvas totes.  This particular graphic was created by designer Kelsey Thorn.  It reads "l'education c'est la beauté," which is French for "education is beauty."

Chloe & I had such a blast hanging with the MSC team! Special shout out to Lisa Mayer and Cosima Compton for putting this event together & for being so much fun to work with! Also, thank you to Megan for these amazing pictures!!

I'm so excited to see what the future holds for My Social Canvas, and I'm lucky to work with this amazing company!!  Be sure to check out this post for the details on my outfit

xo!
