Summer Trend: Color Blocking

June 25, 2015

Color blocking is back!!! (Not that it ever left).  This is one of my favorite trends of the season because I love mixing and matching colors to create fun and stylish looks! There are so many different ways to do color blocking, but my favorite method is incorporating the trend through accessories.  Since my wardrobe mainly consists of simple colors like black, navy, and white, I love statement accessories like bright shoes and colorful handbags! Take a look at these stunning accessories from some top designers to get some inspiration for summer color blocking...

Tory Burch is doing a lot of color blocking right now.  This T-Lock Color-Block Tote is one of my favorite handbags of the season.  I love how the simple blue color creates a muted background to contrast with the bright yellow front pocket.

Here are a few more gorgeous color blocking accessories from Tory Burch.  These Color-Cube Mules are great for the summer, and I love the fun combination of color and wood on the heel.  This Color-Cube Minaudière is from the same collection, and it also utilizes wood and color in its design.  This bag also comes in blue, but I just love these shades of pink! It's a very small clutch, but it is perfect for a night out (it has just enough space for your phone, wallet, and a lipstick!)

Fendi has also been doing a lot of color blocking this season.  I really love the style of this Petite 2Jours Monster Tote Bag.  The pink accent colors make it a great bag for the summer, but it can also be worn into the winter! Also, it is made of GORGEOUS calfskin leather.

Here's another beautiful color blocked bag from Fendi, the 2Jours Petit Shopping Tote Bag.  This bag also does a great job of combining simple and statement colors for an exciting look!

Fancy heels are also great for color blocking! I love picking out colorful shoes to dress up simple outfits. These Mercury Suede-Paneled Patent Leather Pumps by Brian Atwood are so fun! I love lime green accents on the back of the heel! Paired with a simple black or white dress, these shoes are sure to make a statement!

I'm a huge fan of Christian Louboutin, and this Tucsick Glittered-Panel Colorblock Leather Pump is a perfect example of how Louboutin is incorporating color blocking into his latest collection!!

Color blocking is a great trend to try this summer! Start with simple accessories like these, and before you know it, you'll be a color blocking expert!
