Looks: Let's Do Lunch

April 2, 2015

Day 2 in Cali was pretty exciting.  I drove down to Manhattan Beach for a meeting and lunch with some wonderful people from the Boston Consulting Group.  It was fun talking about different careers and all the possibilities that lie within the fashion industry.  It's always important to dress to impress, and I love finding new ways to incorporate style into professional outfits.

I put together this cute outfit at one of my favorite "hidden gem" stores, Ann Taylor. I know this store has a reputation for being a little old-fashion, but a lot of their stuff is pretty chic. Finding a good pair of white jeans at a reasonable price is nearly impossible, but these Modern Skinny Jeans fit really well. I already owned these jeans in a dark denim wash, and they're so comfortable, so I figured I'd try them in white.

I paired these pants with my new top from Ann Taylor Loft. In the past, I have avoided peplum because, in my opinion, I think it's pretty unflattering. But, my mother came across this Mixed Media Tiered Peplum Shell tank, and I think it might be the greatest tank top, ever. It's so hard to find simple yet stylish tanks, and this one is just...amazing. You know in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants when the girls try on the jeans and they just fit perfectly? That is how I felt when I put this tank top on. I love it so much that I also bought it in a periwinkle blue color. For my meeting, I added a Tory Burch Shrunken Simone Cardigan in Ivory for a more conservative look.

Yesterday, I mentioned my love for statement necklaces this season.  I got this flower necklace a few seasons ago at Talbots, but you can purchase a similar one at Loft. It adds the perfect touch to this simple outfit!

I just got these Stormy Ballet Flats from one of my favorite shoe stores, Jildor. They remind me of the Chloe Scallop Flats, but at a much more reasonable price point. I've been looking to replace an old pair of French Sole gold flats for a while now, and these flats are exactly what I needed! They are extremely comfortable, and they even have a cushion in the arch for added support!

I am, once again, wearing my favorite Furla Candy Mini Crossbody Bag in Ash, as well as my Fitbit Flex and Michele Watch for accessories. I had a wonderful day in the beautiful Manhattan Beach area of LA, and I'm excited for my journey to Northern California tomorrow!

xo!
