We all want to dress like what we see on the runway, but let's be real, who can actually afford that? After seeing the Lacoste F/W '15 show last Saturday, I fell in love with this gorgeous cable-knit sweater:

A few days later, while shopping with my mother, we decided to venture into a store I had never explored before, Uniqlo. Uniqlo is a Japanese retailer that has recently expanded to the U.S. and is known for selling extremely basic pieces that can be mixed and matched. I really like the look this store is going for (it's like a mix of Old Navy's practicality and H&M's trendy aesthetic). But upon entering the store, one particular sweater caught my eye...
This Women's Cricket Sweater ($39.90) mirrored the exact sweater is was looking for after seeing the Lacoste show. Of course it is not made of the same luxurious material, but it was such a close match (and at such a good price) that I couldn't help but buy it immediately!
I'm really excited about this sweater because navy and cream have always been two of my favorite colors, and together they create the perfect look for spring. I bought this sweater to wear on my upcoming vacation to California, and I can't wait to wear it.
Not everyone is fortunate enough to have a Uniqlo 10 minutes from their house, since it is relatively new in the United States. But, tops similar to this Lacoste Sweater are being sold at a lot of my favorite fast-fashion stores!
Nasty Gal sells an adorable Boys Club ($58.00) version of this sweater. Even though Lacoste is showing this sweater with a high neckline, I really like Nasty Gal's use of a REALLY low neckline. It's a fashion risk, but if worn correctly, it can look super trendy and fun. I don't love Nasty Gal's pairing of this top with denim shorts, and personally I would wear this sweater with a simple navy circle skirt.
Go Jane also has a version of this preppy sweater ($32.50). This look is cute because the sweater is bigger and boxier. It has a less formal and more comfortable aesthetic.

And, of course, we cannot forget the sweater that began this trend: the Rag + Bone Talia Sweater ($495.00). Unfortunately, this sweater is no longer sold in cream and navy, however it can still be found in white with grey accents. This sweater, worn here by blogger Blair Eadie, is a classic wardrobe piece that I adore, and I love how it can be worn casually with jeans or with a skirt for a dressier look!
This sweater is a perfect addition to a preppy, classic spring wardrobe!
