New Year's in No Time

December 31, 2013

Am I the only one who just realized New Year's Eve is tomorrow? Yikes!! That means I have about 24 hours to get a fabulous outfit together! If you're in the same boat as me, just follow these tips, and you'll have a head-turning, heart-stopping, Instagram-worthy outfit in no time!

  • Determine the Dress Code

The first step to finding your New Year's Eve outfit is figuring out what kind of event you are going to.  Are you spending New Year's Eve with your family friends at home?  Or are you going to a house party?  Maybe you're going to a fancy gala?  It's important to never be underdressed, and ALWAYS be a little overdressed.  This makes you stand out from the crowd.  I'm going to a party at a nearby hotel, so I'm going to dress up a little bit.  For this post, we'll use a regular party dress code.

  • Pick Your Style for the Night

There are so many different styles that can be worn on New Year's Eve.  The possibilities are endless.  Here are some of my favorite looks:

1) Glitter Glamour

No matter where you are on New Year's Eve, there is sure to be a lot of people wearing sequins and glitter.  It's a popular New Year's Eve trend, so if you want to be a fashionista, you have to change up the trend a bit!  The best way to do this is find a solid top and wear a sparkly bottom.  I love this Leith Sequin Midi Skirt ($78.00).  It's so sophisticated with a little bit of fun! I adore the midi skirt shape; it looks great if you have long legs!

If you don't want to wear a skirt, these Wayf Crop Sequin Track Pants ($68.00) are another glitzy option. What better way to make a statement than to have sequins running up and down your legs?

Both the skirt and the pants will look great paired with this ASTR Cutout Faux Leather Crop Top ($54.00).  It's simple in the front and funky in the back, but not too wild.  Pair this outfit with a funky hairdo, some black pumps, and a classic clutch, and you're good to go!

2) Stand-Out Style

There are many ways to stand out from the crowd, but the best way is with color!  This One Rad Girl 'Natalie' Dress is a perfect choice to make your presence known.  Originally priced at $49.00, this dress is on a huge sale (50% off) right now for only $24.49!  How can you pass up a bargain like that? With a simple pair of heels, this dress is great for turning heads.

Are you a style risk taker?  Then don't stop at color to stand out; try a fashion forward style like this skirt and shirt two piece duo.  The Glamorous Jacquard Crop Top is $28.00, and the Glamorous Jacquard Tube Skirt is $38.00.  Together, these pieces create an outfit to be remembered!  I love the funky, bright pattern!  This outfit incorporates style and color, and it's a masterpiece!

3) Demure Darling

If you're a little style-shy, you can still be best dressed on NYE! Just channel your personality into a sweet outfit, like this June & Hudson Bell Sleeve Shift Dress ($48.00).  With high socks and booties, you have yourself a simple, gorgeous, and stylish outfit.  Add a strand of pearls, and you're ready to party!

Here is another sweet outfit!  This ASTR Embellished Neck Chiffon Tee ($52.00) looks gorgeous tucked into the Devlin Pleated Skirt ($68.00).  Since I'm obsessed with high socks, I would wear a tall pair of black socks and chunky black heels!  I love the bedazzled neckline on this tee; it adds just the right amount of shimmer.

2013 was a great year, and I'm so excited to see what is to come in 2014!  I hope you all have a great New Year's Eve and I know you will look fabulous!
