On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

October 3, 2013

What is one thing that every teen girl has in common?  They can quote Mean Girls like it's nobody's business."The limit does not exist,"  "I really wanna lose three pounds," and "It's like I have ESPN or something" are just a few of the most memorable quotes from this classic movie.  So any Mean Girls expert would know the significance of this day...

That's right! It's October 3rd: AKA National Mean Girls Day! And what better way to spend this holiday than taking a look at some of the greatest outfits from the movie?

The first step to dressing like a Plastic is having self confidence!  Don't be a follower; be a trendsetter!  If you like a style that's unique, don't be afraid to show it off.

Another important part of having the Plastic look is having an eye for style.  Regina, Gretchen, and Karen all have great style!  And they teach Cady how to dress well, too!

I especially love Gretchen's dress in this scene.  It reminds me of a Lilly Pulitzer dress.  I also love Karen's sandals.  They are, as Gretchen would say...

Some key components of a "Plastic Wardrobe" include Argyle sweaters, patterned mini skirts, pointed-toe high heels, button-down blouses, tanks with girly saying like "Bling Bling," "Rebel," or "A Little Bit Dramatic," and, of course, anything in the pink or red family.

And finally, be yourself.  Mean Girls is a fun movie to watch, but it has an important message that should not be overlooked.   Being "popular" isn't everything.  It's important to surround yourself with real friends who love you for who you are!
